How can a technical team and an HR team be this incompetent?
This is for a senior role, and the HR team reached out to me, stating I might be a good fit.
I have 4.5 years of experience, which is mentioned in the first line of my resume's career summary. I cleared Round 1, which was a HackerRank test, followed by two levels of technical interviews.
Three technical staff who interviewed me didn't have a problem with my experience and cleared me for a face-to-face interview at the office.
I had to book my tickets to Chennai to attend the interview at their office. I reached the office and presented my resume to two more technical staff during the interview.
I returned home and received a call three days later stating that I did not clear the interview. The reason given was that I didn't have enough experience for a senior role.
Excuse me? Isn't that the job of the HR team? How could a total of five technical staff overlook that aspect and then, at the last moment, decide I don't have enough experience?
The worst part is my performance feedback from each round was great, and they all agreed I am a capable candidate. Yet, the sole problem is that I don't have "enough" experience.
