The first phone interview was quite good, covering common HR questions and a few basic technical ones.
The second technical interview, however, was extremely vague. It was difficult to understand what the interviewers aimed to assess with their questions. This was a coding test where they described a problem. I started to think out loud, but was stopped and told, "No, let's think about the following." I began describing my thoughts again, only to be told, "Let's think about another thing." We switched topics again, and then returned to the original problem. This pattern of jumping between different topics felt like an attempt to cover everything without a clear focus on any single area.
After the interview, it was impossible to determine what had been asked or what was expected. The problem itself was simple, so the mix of questions and the rapid switching felt unnecessarily complex and confusing. It seemed as though the interviewers possessed a talent for turning a simple task into an elaborate problem that was difficult to comprehend.
