Pros

Pay is decent for what I do. I mostly just sit in a cubicle and listen to people complain about their jobs. Sometimes I go visit customers.

Cons

No opportunities for development or advancement. If you accomplish all annual goals/targets, pay raises are trivial. If your manager is not pulling you up through the ranks, there is no chance of any promotion.

Advice to Management

Listen to all of you people, not just the "top talent" selectees.

Give people opportunities to branch out beyond their own roles.

Let people use their skills instead of ignoring their abilities.

Help them land development opportunities; don't deny every opportunity that comes their way.

If you send people to the field for 10 weeks at a time, acknowledge the hardship on their families.
