Pros

Tremendous resources; Siemens is an incredible force when focused. Technically, they have great depth and breadth.

Cons

Inconsistent direction, reorganizations, and management changes are the norm in some groups. The focus is on today and this quarter. Finances are critically important, but too many decisions are based on this month and this quarter, which are contrary to a long-term growth strategy. There needs to be a guiding principle, and all decisions need to be measured against how they support it this month, next year, and the next five years.

Advice to Management

Develop a process for keeping good management at sites longer and discourage turnover of Sr. Staff every two years.

Encourage consistent leadership and direction. A three-year plan is of limited use when management is assured to change every two years.
