Pros

Government client, which gives a false comfort of stability.

Cons

While Siemens in general is a great company, this division is really struggling to get business and has laid off people massively starting in 2008.

Because of the repeated layoffs, the employees at the company are very defensive and anxious, and even afraid to share information to ensure job security.

Advice to Management

Some of the managers have been promoted from blue-collar jobs, so they lack the professionalism for dealing with white-collar employees.

The senior leadership is rarely seen except at all-hands meetings.

Mid-management is fierce and uncompromising, with little focus on employee development.
