The worst interview process I have ever experienced.
I had the initial phone screen and passed that. I then had the Hiring Manager interview, which also went well. After that, I completed a take-home exercise, which also went well, as I was selected for the final interview. Note that I had already put in about 6 hours of time into their process.
The final interview was a 3.5-hour session with 4 different people. Everything went great. They said they would get back to me within 2 business days, maximum 3.
The 3rd day passed with no response. On the 4th day, I sent an email, but received no response at all. Finally, on the 5th day, the recruiter told me that they had too many applicants, and that's why I was not selected. I mean, are you kidding me? That's not even a valid reason, and they gave me no other feedback at all.
You guys need to get your act together. You wasted more than 10 hours of my work-week time just to respond with "We had too many applicants." This "too many applicants" filter should be applied at the very first stage, not after the final interview.
I would highly suggest everyone to stay away from interviewing at Slack.
