Recruiter Interview (30 minutes scheduled) - We reviewed a few key details about my professional experience, software developer bootcamp experience, and what my priorities are in life. The interview lasted about an hour because she was genuinely interested in who I am as a person.
Tech Interview (30 minutes scheduled) - The software engineer conducting the interview created an environment that was really comfortable. I was asked a coding question that you're sure to come across while prepping for any tech interview, but I don't remember the specifics of it. He allowed me to write my answer in VS Code and ask questions. I made sure to explain why I was doing what I was doing, and he asked questions as I did so. He followed up, asking questions about what differentiated some databases, questions about data types, and drilled deeper into those with additional questions to understand my depth of knowledge.
Director Interview (30 minutes) - Also a very comfortable environment. We talked about the company, why he was there, the working environment, and a bit about me.
What role did I take on when working in a group during bootcamp?
What got me interested in working as a software engineer?
