Process

I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn. I had applied for a position on Slalom's website, but I think the LinkedIn email was independent of that. I expressed my interest, and a call was set up with another recruiter.

That call was the usual HR call, where I was told about the role and responsibilities and was asked if I would be okay to proceed. A few days later, a call with one of the Solution Principals was scheduled.

During that call, I gave a brief introduction and was asked a few details about my work and some general Data Engineering technical questions. Nothing too difficult.

A few hours after the call, the recruiter called and said they'd like me to come on-site for an interview. I scheduled one for the very next day, with her help.

I was to meet three people:

  • One would build upon the technical phone call and would involve some whiteboarding.
  • The other two would be a bit more generic and relate to consulting with clients and how one would deal with them, etc.

The questions asked were not too difficult, and by the end, I walked out with a verbal job offer and a big smile on my face. Slalom is definitely the fastest company I've ever worked with, and I look forward to working there.
