Slalom used to be one of the best consulting companies that I have worked for. They used to care about the employees and help them grow and find the right role for them. They used to treat us with respect and kindness. They used to care about our feedback and try to improve the company. I loved working at this company.
After Covid, this company started going downhill. All they cared about was making money. All they wanted was to make up for the profit that they didn’t achieve. They started putting employees under pressure and created a toxic environment. We have unqualified and unprofessional leaders running the company. Some leaders have no experience in leadership, and they are bullying their employees and treating them with disrespect. Direct people leads tell the employees that they are not worth working there and that they should quit. They are always disrespecting us and trying to lower our self esteem and confidence. There is a lot of favouritism in this place. People with junior experience are getting promoted every year by taking other people's credit.
Imagine your manager has the power to insult you and you can’t complain or do anything about it.
One of the suggestions, if you want to lay off people, is to just let them go and stop teasing them, harassing them, and giving them a hard time so they can quit.
Also, the higher management needs to see the people managers and how they are treating their employees.
You need to appreciate your hard-working employees.
Open your eyes and see what type of employees your managers are hiring and promoting.
Soon your company will end up with only unqualified people.
Basic behavioral questions, phone interview, on-campus interview (both behavioral and technical), meeting with the rest of the team. It took a week or so to get back to me with a reply.
He will first introduce himself. Then, it will talk about school projects and then ask you some technical questions about web programming, OOP, and something around quality assurance testing.
A lot of briefing of the current Quality Engineering process at Slalom helped me understand the work culture a lot. The questions were asked along with the process described. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
