Process
The interview process involved three rounds:
- A phone screen with a recruiter
- A phone interview with another QA
- An onsite interview with managers, a developer, and another QA
Overall, the interview was relatively easy. Everyone really went out of their way to make you feel as comfortable as possible. It was one of the friendliest, no-pressure interviews I've ever had.
Although I thought I provided the right answers, I was turned down. My guess is when I was asked a coding question by the developer, I didn't provide the answer they were looking for.
The feedback I received was not specific either, but in looking at others' experiences, this appears to be a common trend in Snap interviews.

Pros: - Free food and drinks.
- Able to learn a lot and be autonomous.
- Great dev teams and software engineers to work with.
Cons: - Tend to string contractors along and not hire FTEs.

Prepare for long hours and surprises

Pros: • Best compensation package in the LA area. When it comes to engineering, no one pays better.
• Free benefits (for you and your family), and I'm not talking just HMO.
• OK meals, but hey, they are free.
• Best vesting schedule with no cliff... for newer employees.
• Creative and smart engineers.
• Hard-working team.
Cons: As mentioned in the title, prepare to put in long hours. If you are not working overtime, you are probably not in engineering or you are a legacy employee just waiting to fully vest.
Communication between teams (and even within teams) needs improvement.
Sink or swim mentality.
Not a great place for work/life balance (unless you are single or family comes second to you).
Competition is high. People seem to try too hard to vie for attention.
When stuff breaks, there are no good processes in place. As a result, people usually work in reactionary mode.
Coffee sucks.
Not enough bathrooms (in my building, anyway).

Pros: Working here has a lot of benefits only an American corporate would give, with the combination of being in the startup nation.
Cons: Workflows can be disorganized at times, and working with several teams remotely or in different timezones can be slow.
