I was contacted via LinkedIn by a recruiting manager at the main office in San Francisco, checking for interest in working at the local Helena branch.

I sent in my resume, and she set up a phone interview with the local management. Questions were typical for the industry:

• What languages/tools do you know?
• What kinds of projects have you worked on?

After the initial phone interview, I was called in for a face-to-face interview at the office. We met in a conference room with myself, the two local directors of engineering, and a recent engineering hire. It was very casual and comfortable.

Most of the meeting seemed like spitballing and "getting to know you" stuff, with a few pop-quiz coding questions.

"Stump me." I was invited to write a code problem on the whiteboard and stump one of the directors.
