SoFi had some really good low-level managers. It was obvious they were in a ton of unnecessary meetings and frazzled by their managers, but they often shielded us from this.
Assaf Ronen is running this company straight into the ground. He often throws valuable team members under the bus publicly and doesn't understand or appreciate the work being done. He's got a track record of this at his previous employers, and I'm confused why upper leadership hasn't corrected this.
Your stock options won't be worth the paper they're printed on due to constant cash injections from Saudi's, etc. They'll spend millions on a football stadium and then lay off key staff, thinking that their responsibilities can just be absorbed by those left behind. And if all that isn't bad enough, you have HR making key technical decisions.
Your people won't tell you how they really feel while they work there.
I never did.
Your company values are just lip service.
I saw people going against those values regularly and moving up and up for it.
I look back on my time at SoFi like a Soviet prison camp: constant work, pressure with zero reward.
I regret ever accepting an offer to work for SoFi.
The first round will be a phone call with HR. After that, you will complete a LeetCode-style technical round for one hour. If you clear that, you will have an onsite interview which consists of four rounds.
System Design: You own a competitor to AWS and want to accurately show customers their billing. Customers incur charges when their virtual machines are ON (not OFF). Build a system that shows customers a real-time amount on their bill and bills them
Informal chat with hiring manager + some behavioral questions on my work style. Addition, chance for questions about team culture and work style at the end of interview. Waiting for response to see if moved forwards or not.
