Process

I applied online and received a phone call from HR 2-3 days later for an initial phone screening. The HR department was excellent.

When they initially called, I was working with a customer, so the HR representative kindly rescheduled to a time that I was available. The initial screening went well, and they set up a second technical phone interview for the following week, again scheduling to fit a time that worked for me.

The technical phone interview was with someone from the automation department. They were friendly, but the interview did feel rushed, and I was often cut off mid-response to be asked another question. The questions were fair and basic, and the interview lasted between 20 and 25 minutes (the last five minutes were for me to ask questions).

Unfortunately, the areas I'm least experienced in were where they needed it the most.

HR called me again two days later to inform me it wasn't going to work out but encouraged me to reapply if I gained more experience in PLCs. I found HR to be very professional and truly appreciated the return call, even though it wasn't the news I was hoping for. So many companies leave you in the dark if they decide to pursue someone else.
