General Engineering Position Interview Experience

Process

I got into the interview process through an internal referral, so I'm not sure about the specific position yet.

The first interview was with a recruiter and was very general about my background and situation.

Then, I had a second interview with the manager of a specific group. The recruiter mentioned the interview would be "technical" and advised me to "be ready!"

The second interview was indeed technical, but it focused on my previous projects and research. The interviewer was great; he introduced his group and their work during the first 5-10 minutes, which eased the entire stressful situation. The interview lasted about 40 minutes, and I am still waiting for the outcome.
