The interview process involves several stages.

First is a phone screen with a recruiter, focusing on behavioral questions and "why SpaceX." The next two rounds are technical interviews with an engineering lead or manager. These technical questions can be quite difficult, often based on fundamental equations and first principles.

The last round is an onsite interview. This includes a panel presentation and approximately five one-on-one interviews with team members, primarily technical in nature.

The time between each stage was about a week.
