The interview process is demanding and thorough.

It consists of a total of 4 interviews, with the last one being in person.

Be prepared, as you are pitted against other applicants at every turn.

The first interview is straightforward, with basic questions such as:

• Tell me about yourself
• Why SpaceX
• Your 5-year plan

This is followed by a 20-question technical section that assesses your ranking against other candidates. The questions cover topics like fluids, heat transfer, beam dynamics, and material properties.

Interviewers do indicate whether your answers are correct or incorrect.

Mainly beam questions like:

• Where is the max stress on a cantilever beam with an end load?
• When cantilevered, which shape has more stress: a circular cross section or a hollowed tube cross section?
• What is the ideal cross section of a beam to limit stress?

Name the physical property that relates stress to strain in the stress-strain curve.
