Stripe is a startup that's going places.
It's got a fantastic group of smart and talented employees, from the engineering side to the product side. Everyone there is intelligent and dedicated.
The culture is all about getting things done, and there is no tolerance for "brilliant jerks" (or jerks in general). People are really supportive.
The pay and vacation are on the low side for a company of its size.
My recruiter contacted me 30 minutes before the interview to say they could not make it. They specifically said they would reschedule, then ghosted. Some would say it is unprofessional to cancel an interview with such short notice, but in my opinion
A full day of interviews. One design problem (whiteboard), a technical presentation, two coding problems, one whiteboard/technical problem, and a manager 1-1. They let you use your own machine and environment, which is great.
Very fair questions. This struck me as the most practical interview I've taken. Their questions involve debugging real API calls and implementing your own data structures that I could see being used in production.
