This is the worst company I have ever seen. My advice is to run as fast as you can away from it.

Pros
  • They have a shuttle that goes from San Jose to San Francisco and stops in Cupertino and San Mateo.
Cons
  • The office has a very depressing corporate feel to it.
  • The internet in the office is unreliable, which is crazy for a company that provides an internet service.
  • The management is so shortsighted that forward progress moves at a snail's pace.
  • They never pay their technical debt. I have not been given a chance to go back and take care of any debt during the 10 months I have been here, and from chatting with other employees, they still have not taken care of most of the issues from when the company was founded.
  • They do not support their good employees. I was told I was not being a team player for following all the best practices that I was supposed to do because it upset the other members of the team.
  • Development environments rarely work correctly, and it is practically impossible to have your own local environment.
  • Management constantly lies to employees. They like to tell employees what they want to hear, even if it is completely untrue or they have no intention of following through.
  • They constantly try new things but leave out key important parts and are surprised when it doesn't work. An example is the agile development process. They tried to do it but did not fully implement it, and then when it failed they decided that agile just doesn't work and they needed to come up with their own process, which is completely insane and gives engineers just over a week of development time for every three-week sprint. That means they plan for less than 50% efficiency.
Advice to Management

Quit so that decent management can replace you.
