Process

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks.

Long process, many steps—not forthcoming about how many and what steps there were or when to expect the next step. Ended up doing:

  • Recruiter call
  • Large take-home coding exercise
  • Video call with engineering lead
  • Video call with CEO
  • Finally they flew me to Boston for panel interviews with various team members.

Most of these panel sessions ended up being video chats with remote workers, and there were several interviewers out sick. Not sure why they flew me out for that.

During the panel interviews I was asked to have:

  • A systems design discussion
  • A live code-pairing session
  • Two typical "explain a time when" behavioral type sessions

I received a rejection call the following week. The feedback I received during the rejection phone call was that "did not fit our needs at this time". Disappointingly vague feedback after making it so far in the process positively. It definitely gave me middle-school lunch table vibes.
