Solution Architect Interview Experience - Austin, Texas

Process

The interview process involved several screening stages:

  • Completing a Tableau exercise (which was equally fun)
  • A phone screen
  • A half-day round of interviews at their office in Austin

After passing this, I was to prepare a visual demo using the product. This was super challenging, as I went on vacation the day after my onsite interview. I had little time to prepare, was jet-lagged, and had only two or three hours of sleep before the presentation.

This was the worst presentation I've ever given, but I felt obligated to do it. This was my mistake; I should have rescheduled.

Anyhow, I never heard back from Tableau after this, not even a "thank you." That was very disappointing.

Questions

The presentation task was to evaluate a fictitious firm.
