I really enjoyed how fast-paced this internship was compared to my previous two internships. I felt like I was encouraged to learn and push myself past my limits.
Each intern is assigned a mentor and a manager. I was fortunate to have a manager and mentor who were both extremely supportive and kind.
It was also my first in-person internship experience, and Tableau designated intern sections so that we would be able to bond with each other in office. We also had lots of fun at the multiple intern events.
Overall, I had an amazing experience and I would love to return in the future!
There were no downsides for me. However, I am aware that some interns did not get as lucky with their managers/mentors, so the experience that they had on their teams was not as fortunate.
First, I took an OA (not too hard). Soon after, I had one interview, which consisted of back-to-back sessions: a 30-minute behavioral interview followed by a 45-minute coding interview with two different interviewers. Overall, the process was smooth.
It started with a phone screen, then an online assessment, and then a technical interview with the hiring manager. That's how far I got. This process took about two weeks.
A recruiter reached out to me and provided a coding challenge through HackerRank. The challenge consisted of two questions of fairly low difficulty; however, the problems had many small edge cases.
