Lead Engineer Interview Experience - Bengaluru, Karnataka

January 22, 2018
Negative ExperienceNo Offer

Process

The interview process included:

  • Case study
  • Two technical rounds
  • Director round

The case study presented an NP-hard problem, essentially a REST wrapper over a cab routing algorithm. The interviewer seemed unable to grasp graph-based approaches and was only interested in CRUD operations.

This was followed by two technical rounds. The interviewers appeared to have a specific answer in mind for each question. If you could provide that exact answer, you would be selected. They overcrowded the interview process. The first round started at 2 PM. As an IIT alumnus with experience at companies like Microsoft and Intuit, I would not recommend this company. Not a single line of code was requested.

The only positive aspect was the provision of free lunch.

Questions

What are streams?

Interviewer was not able to digest the functional programming definition.

Some impractical questions:

  • What if you instantiate an ExecutorService on every method call?
  • How would you upload a large file?
  • What data structure would you use for a Google Suggestion service? Why not a BST? A Trie?
