Process
The interview process involved several stages:
- First, a call with the recruiter.
- Next, a technical call with the hiring manager.
- Finally, a video interview with the hiring manager and four other employees.
I was asked to prepare and present a presentation to a panel. Following the presentation, there were questions, and then a one-on-one discussion with the hiring manager concluded the process.

Pros: Tesla is a hardcore place to work. Long hours, insane deadlines, and employee churn are the norm. There are many plush jobs in the Bay Area to choose from, but it would be hard to find one as satisfying and as meaningful. Seeing the cars driving around and meeting happy customers is also very rewarding.
Cons: Shifting priorities, an endless workload, the inability to retain talent, too many 'smart' people with opinions, engineering compromises to ship things quicker, lack of recognition, and parking.
