Equipment Engineer Interview Experience - Berlin, Germany

Process

I submitted the below feedback on my interview experience, only to have my entire Tesla career profile deleted. This is appalling. I am curious why no one speaks out about this level of abusive candidate management.

I was questioned on areas that were out of reach from my past experiences (CV) and engineering studies. Specifically, I have the following to detail:

  • I was questioned on SQL coding and the understanding behind PLCs. I am not sure whether my CV was read, but I studied Mechanical Engineering and was never in a role where the electrical/electronic part was within my scope of work.
  • I was asked for my understanding behind electrical diagrams. Unfortunately, I again did not study this area, nor was I exposed to it during my engineering career.
  • I was tested on engineering fundamentals, which I have not touched upon for 5 years. I would have appreciated knowing that this was in the scope of the interview so as to brush up on the topics. I understood the role was not for a fresh-out-of-university candidate, but instead someone with some experience.
  • My experiences with suppliers, operations (technicians and engineering), and maintenance/reliability were mostly ignored.
  • The interviewer immediately informed me that I would not proceed to the next stages in between responding to my first question. I was not allowed to ask any further questions and found his feedback highly unprofessional.
