The process was very drawn out. Over the course of four months, I completed three take-home assignments, an on-site interview that included a 30-minute presentation, and had eight to ten phone calls.

After my on-site interview, it felt like they were stalling. They asked me to complete an additional take-home assignment. I did so, and about a week later, the recruiter informed me that he had "accidentally sent me the wrong one." I then completed another assignment, which was almost identical to the previous one. A week later, the recruiter responded again, stating that the manager was out of town. A week after that, they finally extended a verbal offer. After some negotiation, we agreed to terms, and I was very excited to join Tesla.

Sounds great, right? They then stated that before they could provide an official offer, I would have to have a brief phone call with the manager's boss. They mentioned he was very busy and that it might take a few days. After a week of no communication, I reached out. There was no response. I waited another week, then reached out again. Again, no response.

I understand that they were likely considering other candidates throughout this period, and that nothing is official until it is finalized. However, to extend a verbal offer and then ghost the candidate is extremely unprofessional.
