Process

This is the company with the worst HR I’ve ever seen. They do not reply to your letters and behave as if they are suzerain and you are a vassal.

I had applied for a position but received no reply for three months. I had almost forgotten about this application and concentrated on others. Then an HR person contacted me, asking to have a 24-hour technical exam. I agreed and we scheduled the date. I asked her to send the letter with questions on Sunday morning, and I specifically pointed out her local time. However, I received the letter on Saturday, which I had to spend with my family. Therefore, I started the test in the evening and did it during the night. It was a large test, with my reply being about 15 pages in Word.

After that, they maintained silence and did not reply to my emails. Suddenly, after three weeks, the HR person contacted me again and said I had passed the examination and that she wanted to schedule an interview with an engineer on the team I applied to.

I had a good technical interview with those individuals, where we discussed technical problems and approaches to solve them. But after that, I had no reply from Tesla, and HR did not reply to my letters. Then, after a month, she contacted me again and asked me to schedule an interview with the team leader. In this interview, we discussed my experience; I explained my papers and patents, etc. He then suggested I wait for a reply from HR. However, I did not receive any letter or notification. I wrote several letters, but HR did not reply.

I understand that Tesla is facing problems and qualified people are leaving the company, but this approach demonstrates a disrespectful attitude towards potential candidates, which I could not find even in small companies and start-ups. So, I do not recommend dealing with them.
