A virtual online interview was set up. It required a pre-prepared 20-minute presentation explaining my background, two problems I had worked on, and why I wanted to work at Tesla. This was followed by a 10-minute Q&A session. Afterward, there were four rounds of interviews with individual people.
There were a few people present during my presentation, some of whom were scheduled for a one-on-one with me later. However, after the presentation, nobody asked any questions, and I just waited for 10 minutes. Then, the person who was scheduled to interview me last came first and asked a question, which I answered. He then asked if I had any questions, so I asked him the question I had prepared, to which he gave an answer.
Later, he informed me that an urgent matter had come up, and all the people scheduled to interview me were attending to it, meaning nobody would interview me. I immediately understood that the company was not interested in me. However, I was annoyed that I had invested time in such a company with no professionalism. If they hadn't liked something about my presentation, they should have clarified it during the Q&A session or during the one-on-one interviews.
It was a good thing it didn't go further, as I would not want to work for such a company. One month later, I received a much better offer from a good company.
