Process

A recruiter reached out via LinkedIn, and I replied. A recruiter call followed, then three technical phone screens: one with the Hiring Manager and two with engineers on the team. There were five onsite interviews and one presentation interview about a past project.

The Hiring Manager mentioned that he doesn't believe in LeetCode-type questions and there would not be any in the interview. However, all the coding questions were from LeetCode. I could answer most of them, except for one.

Here are a few more details:

PHONE SCREENS:

  • Recruiter Call
  • Hiring Manager call: Past experience and discussion of what the team does.
  • Coding interview: Two LeetCode questions.
  • System Design

ONSITE:

  • Presentation about a past project and related questions.
  • SRE-type questions about troubleshooting.
  • LeetCode medium.
  • System Design.
  • LeetCode medium. The interview was scheduled for 45 minutes, but the interviewer thought it was an hour, and I couldn't complete my answer.
  • Two LeetCode questions: One easy, one medium. I couldn't answer the medium question and ran short of time.

After a week, the recruiter emailed that they didn't think I was a good fit.
