Process

I applied online. The hiring manager contacted me via email after five days, stating that my profile matched the skills they were looking for.

We scheduled a phone interview two days after receiving the email.

The first interview was straightforward. The interviewer primarily wanted to understand my career accomplishments and how my skills aligned with the role. They reviewed my CV quite quickly. As they are busy individuals, it's important not to waste their time with irrelevant talk. Get straight to the point.

Following the first interview, the HR manager/recruiter emailed me back within hours, informing me that I had qualified for the technical interviews and that two engineers would be interviewing me. We arranged an appointment for two days after this interview.

The second interview was with the head of engineering for that department. He explained the job function and my responsibilities. He reviewed my resume again and I explained the projects I had completed. There were some tricky questions regarding aluminum structures. He was very friendly, discussing extracurricular activities like sports and my passion for cars.

The third and final interview was the most challenging. I interviewed with a senior technical engineer (PhD). He was direct and reviewed my resume, asking questions about my past projects and experiences. He was trying to find the ideal candidate for the position, so take this step very seriously. They are not just looking for an intern to work only for the summer; it's akin to applying for a full-time position. Therefore, you should be very sharp, as they are highly intelligent. He went through all the courses I had taken and asked fundamental theories from each subject. When I answered incorrectly, he corrected me, which was a learning experience. Questions about aluminum structures were a significant focus of the interview.
