Pros

The pay and benefits are hard to beat when comparing to other industries in the area.

Cons

Life in the business units is much better than life in the manufacturing facilities. The business units understand work-life balance and respect a person's "free time," while manufacturing facilities have no concept of work-life balance and little respect for your time away from work.

Advice to Management

Learn how to balance the entire company to allow for better work-life practices.

Very few people stay long-term in manufacturing roles due to the lack of balance.

Promote people sooner rather than later – lose too many good, young, talented people by holding off their opportunities.
