Process

Was reached out by a recruiter on LinkedIn for an Android Engineer remote position.

The recruiter was super, super nice and very responsive.

First call was with the recruiter, making sure I met the minimum requirements.

Second call was with two of the engineering managers and hiring managers. The second call was short - 30 minutes - and very pleasant.

Third call was with some senior developers who were very, very kind and wanted to know my technical level.

Overall, felt like these guys really cared. I could tell that they cared more for my personality and work ethic rather than technical skill.

Questions

Tell us about yourself and why Home Depot? (Second call)

(Third call) Android question - What are the two types of Intent? And tell us about them.

Are you familiar with MVVM architecture? What is it?

What is the Service library in Android?

Say you have Application A and Application B, how would Application A get data from Application B?

What is the difference between Application Context and Activity Context?

Talk about your past experiences, difficulties on projects, and how you overcame them.
