Great people, amazing culture, and the best technology practices in town. A fun place to work.
I have been working with HD for over seven years and have enjoyed my experience until recently. However, my feelings have changed due to recent issues regarding leadership choices, conflict resolution, and the suppression of employee voices. These factors have significantly impacted my satisfaction and engagement with the company.
My recent experiences at HD have been unlike anything I’ve encountered before. There appears to be a pattern of exploiting leadership, suppressing voices, targeting individuals, and highlighting flaws in a negative manner while overlooking positive contributions. This seems to reflect the prevailing leadership approach at HD, based on my observations. I appreciate the learning experience; it has taught me valuable lessons on what to avoid in my future career.
In a large organization with thousands of employees, conflicts in attitudes and approaches are inevitable. However, I have noticed that our HR department often falls short in effectively resolving these conflicts.
At times, their efforts seem lackadaisical, allowing a negative culture to persist. It’s deeply concerning that HR appears more inclined to follow the immediate supervisor’s perspective rather than thoroughly investigating and understanding the truth of the situation.
This approach might seem easier, but it undermines the integrity and morale of the workplace. There is a need for HR to be more proactive and committed to fair and thorough conflict resolution.
Despite my previous requests for HR to thoroughly investigate certain issues, no action has been taken. This situation has left me doubtful that my concerns will be addressed seriously or resolved effectively.
Now, I’ve reached a point where I no longer feel invested. At the end of the day, these issues may be forgotten, but the deteriorating culture remains a concern.
So, no advice and good luck :)
