Pros

Associates are treated with respect and dignity.

New technology trends are taken seriously. Occasionally late to the party, but they do show up.

Cons

Leadership seems to not know whether it's coming or going.

Budgetary infighting, leading to surprise, last-minute major cuts and realignment.

Poor interdepartmental communication, leading to operations and systems desynchronization.

Lack of trust, leading to ever increasing levels of pointless bureaucracy.

Contractors are highly expendable; they will use you as "flex" and are aggressively outsourcing.

Advice to Management

Remember your values. Do the right thing. The business will be fine.

Let associates do their job; a lot of us want to deliver value, but we're constantly fighting the system to do so. It's exhausting.

Driving sales is important, but it isn't everything. We're a top company for a reason; don't drop the important things while chasing money from the sky.
