We're still getting paid, and our benefits haven't been completely cut yet. I guess that's good.
There's an idea that Thumbtack is doing good work, building a platform for working-class people to find work, especially in times like today. Even though the company wasn't profitable before, it's weird that we laid off over 200 employees, and now we're being told things are looking good, even better than ever.
Also, our CTO just quit, claiming it was time to take a break. Maybe that's true, but who knows.
Many of us don't know what or who to believe anymore. The few people who have interviewed here in the last two months ask questions about our culture, and we're told to focus on the positive. But they can just read this page and see all the stories.
And I just saw a negative review below had the wrong copy/paste template response, as if the review was praising the team.
Engineers are going to keep quitting here. It's been months since the layoffs, and morale and culture continue to suffer.
I read a story that they tried to hire back our old head of diversity after laying him off not too long ago. Who would've thought that was a good idea?
These are such "senior" leaders, and they don't know the rule of burning bridges?
Change it up. Many of us are considering leaving.
People that already left are careful not to poach us, but we're being given opportunities to go somewhere better because we feel we have to.
You burned 250+ bridges when you let all of those people go, and we're left here to deal with the morale, the inconsistency, and still continuing to bleed good talent.
Stop denying opportunities to people who didn't work at Google. I get people asking me on LinkedIn why we didn't give them a job, and then I see them end up at better companies than Thumbtack, and I don't get why.
You'll have two phone screens: one with the interviewer, and one onsite interview in the office. The onsite interview consists of three interviews with SWEs/Tech Leads. The onsite ends with a conversation with the recruiter on how things went and w
After you apply, you'll be sent an online assessment. Mine was 2 questions, both string parsing. The first one passed, the second one was extremely involved and I didn't finish it, but I still got through to the next round. Then a recruiter will rea
The interview process was very professional and pleasant. My recruiter was very detailed, thorough, and patient with me. The process went from a take-home on Hackerrank to a screen interview. However, I didn't follow through with the second step to
