Backend Software Engineer Interview Experience - Singapore, Singapore

Process

Very talented at wasting time and effort. The recruiter never provided feedback after each round, although all my rounds went very well. I received a rejection for no reason, with the email stating, "Thank you so much for [bla bla], we have decided to move with another candidate." The process took four weeks due to the recruiter not being organized and responding only once per week.

All interviewers spoke broken English, which I found odd. One interviewer, who feared handling an interview in English, had to reschedule three times but ultimately did not proceed. Interviews were scheduled just minutes before the commitment date/time specified a week earlier.

The technical round featured LeetCode-style questions: one DP HARD problem and another that was a useless implementation, not even medium difficulty. I will not discuss system design as it might reveal my personality.

Overall, I advise avoiding this application if you do not speak Mandarin, as your chances are too low.

Questions

2 LeetCode style problems:

  • 1 Hard (Dynamic Programming)
  • 1 Medium (Simulation)
