Process
I applied through the official website for an ML Engineer (TikTok Multimedia) PhD Intern position for Summer 2025.
The first round was a coding round, lasting approximately 55 minutes. Afterward, there was a 5-minute discussion about my interests.
It was a difficult problem, outside the scope of typical LeetCode questions. While I wasn't able to provide the most optimized solution, I vocalized my thought process and was still invited for the next round.
Questions
A hard-coding problem where the height of the dam and the height of the riverbed (in increasing order) were given. We had to decide where to place the dam to maximize the water storage capacity.
