HR reached out through emails but would never answer questions prior to the interviews. There were two 1-hour technical interviews: the first covered coding and a resume deep dive, and the second focused on ML system design. One interviewer was very rude.

Pros: The team is excellent, with a very modern tech stack. Candidates are expected to have strong data sensitivity and the ability to perform both online and offline data analysis and reasoning across the entire data and model pipeline. Of course, coding requirements are also high, especially for high-performance systems such as those built in C++.
Cons: Of course, a large part of the work involves solving problems through data analysis and modeling them using appropriate statistical and mathematical methods. Therefore, if someone is uncomfortable with mathematics, this role may not be a good fit.

Pros: You will learn rocket-fast because you are always pushed by overloaded tasks. A fresh NG will handle several senior-level jobs under limited guidance.
Cons: 0 work-life balance. Work, work, work if you are a Chinese speaker. You will be working with people in China during the night for sure.
But for non-Chinese speakers, your life will be much better because the leadership will have 0 expectations from you. You can basically chill all day.
