Quality Analyst Interview Experience - Austin, Texas

Process

I applied for a Spanish/English linguistics role. When I was first contacted, I received a language assessment. I assumed it would have grammar or translation questions, but the questions were pretty random. One of them was, "When did Neo Nyamukunda pass away in 'Paper House'?" Another question presented a scenario but required a 300-word answer.

The 300-word answer was challenging as my computer is set to English, and it kept flagging every word I typed as incorrect. This made it really hard to find typos. Since the assessment was timed with a minimum word limit, it was definitely challenging.

I had my first interview a few days after the initial contact. It was scheduled for 30 minutes but only took about 15. The interview consisted of a few generic questions and many words being read off a script by the interviewer.

I had my second interview the following week. It only took about 20 minutes, and all went well. It included many questions about my past experiences and my level of Spanish. The interviewer told me the hiring team would reach out the following week.

Eight days later, I received an automated rejection, which I really didn't expect. The experience was neutral, not because I didn't get a job offer, but because all contact was completely cut off, and there was no feedback from the interviewers, just a generic automated response.
