Software Engineer Interview Experience - Boston, Massachusetts

Process

The process initially started off great, with the recruiter being prompt in their response time and straightforward about everything. I was told how the interview process would unfold:

  • Initial phone screen
  • Technical interview
  • Panel interview (if the technical interview went well)

I was also informed I’d hear back within 24 hours of the technical interview with feedback. I heard back 48 hours later, which is no problem. However, I was told they had offered the position to another candidate who was further along in the interview process.

It's worth noting that I scheduled my interview times a week in advance. The company then rescheduled me for a week later, and on the day of the interview, they rescheduled me again.

I had to take time off work to interview with this company, only to find out they had already offered the position to someone else. My time was wasted, and my hopes were raised. I wasn't even offered the last round of the interview, which was a bummer.
