Pros

Co-workers in IE and US are very close-knit and are great people to be around.

Cons

Changes at the top level of R&D have brought in executives that surround themselves with their own yes-people.

This group has started killing teams and restructuring others.

Any dissenting voices are either shouted down or are "not a team player".

Hiring freezes, yet increasing workload, are causing burnout in all fields while the people in charge write emails & posts with hollow platitudes, yet have not listened to anything.

Reviews are more difficult, with VPs unilaterally lowering performance grades, and promotions are essentially no longer an option for many people.

Advice to Management

If this gets a reply, it will be something like, "I am sorry to hear this... please reach out." I have spoken to Directors, VPs, and very senior people in HR, and at each step, my and my colleagues' issues were played down.

The R&D leadership are hell-bent on outsourcing to a remote team in India who lie about their impact consistently, yet are treated as the goose that laid the golden egg.

My advice for management?

  • Get rid of the new people in charge of R&D. They are toxic and have no communication skills.
  • Take a long, hard look at the outsourced office in India to see what they are actually doing.
  • Finally, instead of replying to Glassdoor with empty platitudes or calling Blind "unfair" against the SLT, actually listen to our voices and do something about it before good people leave.
