I got an interview from an on-campus recruiting event. The first round was easy, featuring a basic programming question. The second round was a coding exercise, which was also fairly easy.

I interviewed at the Boston Office. This involved three rounds: a resume review, and two technical interviews.

Good Benefits - Too many levels of management

Pros: The benefits package is great. Not only the 'normal' benefits that you get at a company, but being part of the Expedia network, there were a number of perks and discounts that you would get on travel.

Cons: Projects that I was working on kept having more and more layers of management added to them, until the managers were outnumbering the contributors. Scope creep was inevitable, and projects that should have been pushed live months in advance got held up with "wait, one more feature before we release."

Pros: There is a relaxed dress code, beer, and ping pong. And all of those things seemed great during my initial interview. But these things are standard these days at technical companies. After my first three months, I was no longer wowed.

Cons: Pay raises are minimal at best and provide a lack of future earning ability. Employees seem to get pigeonholed into tasks with little to no opportunity to grow out of them or pursue new interests. This also makes advancement extremely difficult; most employees have to leave to grow in their careers. Lack any sort of mission or vision. It feels like we want to be TripAdvisor, but are far from it.
