I received a Codility test invitation from TripAdvisor. It consisted of four questions with a 48-hour time limit to solve them.
After the test, I had a screening interview with a recruiter. She informed me that we were moving forward to the next round and asked about my profile and interests. The recruiter mentioned that the next round would be scheduled shortly and that the hiring manager would contact me soon.
A few days later, I received an auto-generated email from HR stating that I had been rejected. Upon following up with the recruiter about this, she claimed the email was sent by mistake and that they were still working on setting up the interview.
After a few more days, when I asked for an update, the recruiter said I had been rejected for other reasons.
The entire interview process felt like a joke and was a complete waste of my time.
There were 3 coding and 1 debug question.
The coding questions were:
Find the biggest single-digit number that occurs in an array.
Given a binary string, perform the operations: a) Reduce by 1 if the number is odd. b) Divide by 2 if even. Continue this until the number is 0 and return the number of operations.
The battleship problem.
