Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

A recruiter called and told me about an exciting company looking for 'talented' people and encouraged me to apply.

Then I received a phone screen from the development manager.

He asked a few Java questions, which I believed I answered correctly, and then asked about some specific features of Java Servlet.

I told him that I didn't remember the answer. I further clarified that I had dealt with Servlets a lot during the development phase, but since the system was in production, the problems I dealt with were mostly database performance and bugs in the business logic layer.

Later, the recruiter told me that they didn't want to bring me for a site interview because my skills weren't strong enough.
