TripAdvisor is growing aggressively, and this means there are plenty of promotion and advancement opportunities for people who have ability and are willing to work for it. I've worked at places where there are at least three qualified people jockeying for each opportunity to advance. TripAdvisor is NOT one of them.

Overall, the level of bureaucracy in engineering is still low, and it's possible to get things done without waiting a long time for management to make opaque decisions behind closed doors.
The location in Newton is not convenient unless you happen to already live in one of the western suburbs.
TripAdvisor does not do a lot of fundamental R&D on new technologies. Look elsewhere if that is a priority for you.
Two phone interviews and one onsite interview. Phone interviews asked a lot of hash table questions, consistent hashing, etc. Onsite interview: 1. Number of 1's in islands in a 2-D matrix (DFS). 2. Level print binary tree (queue). 3. Get the number
I had one phone interview that involved coding a binary search tree and implementing an insert() and findSumAtLevel(int n) routine. I then went to their Newton office, where I was interviewed by three engineers. Questions focused a lot on binary sea
I was referred by a friend and was interviewed within two days. I completed four on-site interviews, one of which was with the Chief of Engineering. I was scheduled for an additional interview with the Engineering VP, but it did not take place as s
