Cons: If you want to develop yourself and your work to get recognized, then the company might not be for you. You may put your heart into projects and work all day and night, but in the end, your work will not be very appreciated. On the other hand, others who might not do so much but talk to management get promoted. The Amsterdam team is one example where people don't bring much value to the company but get paid better than others, receive stocks, etc. The company is full of politics, and many people stay in their comfort zone. They don't accept criticism due to the company culture. Senior employees are usually underpaid. Also, managers always say, "If you are here for money, then it is not your place." Why are people in the company? To have fun or to learn ethics? Of course, they want to get well-paid, come on. Some people are in the company for the wrong reasons. The company now tries to hire cheap labor to prevent people from asking for more salary raises. I think the people in the company should initiate an employers' association to assure salary increases that guarantee at least the inflation rate in the country. Don't waste your time here if you want to build a good career. Every day is important for your career.

Pros: I can decide myself which technologies I use together with my teammates because we all get the trust that we do the right thing for the product we work on. I like that I can try out new things every day, and I learn a lot. There is a very good, inspiring environment because there are different events offered to all trivago employees, like internal and external Hackathons or internal academy sessions with very skilled people in tech, but also not in tech. What I also like is that I can rely on my colleagues coming from different places in the world (management included) because even the c-level managers extend their circle of trust to everyone. Egos or status are not important in that culture. I don't know many companies that do this to that extent.

Cons: Due to the fact that employees get a lot of freedom for their own creativity, they have to learn how to manage themselves and set the right priorities. The company supports this with workshops, but sometimes it's challenging for me personally.

Pros: The team was great and collaborative.

Cons: There were no cons while I was working there.
