Payment has become a real problem by now, not only from a personal perspective but also concerning the fact that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find new employees. The justification so far has been that trivago employees enjoy so many other benefits for this – which is definitely true. However, other companies are catching up ruthlessly in this regard.
Accordingly, there is currently rather high fluctuation, with many long-term employees either having left or being in the process of leaving.
Decisions are sometimes very political. Together with the dreaded 360 Degree Performance Reviews at the end of the year (on which, at least partially, salary increases for the coming year also depend), it sometimes feels as if relationships and networking are more important than the actual work. Without a network and the willingness to socialize (drink) with leads from other teams/pillars after work, one sometimes has to chase relevant information for an extremely long time.
In terms of Diversity, trivago also has to catch up, especially when looking at the management, of whom the vast majority are male and white. Among the C-level executives, there is also only a single (white) woman.
Real benefits for young families are hard to find. The plan for the kindergarten/child care announced for 2020 in the new Campus Tower has now been scrapped. At least mothers and fathers can still do home office in emergencies.
I did two rounds of interviews. 1. The first round was 30 minutes with the project manager. It included some general questions about me and the types of testing I performed, why I wanted to join Trivago, if I knew Trivago's working model, and some c
I received an email with the interview appointment. It turned out to be a technical interview, although that wasn't mentioned in the email. It was mostly JavaScript questions.
The worst interview ever! Can you believe the recruiter told you the feedback was positive on Monday, then declined you on Wednesday because of your first interview feedback? Are they just trying to kid me? If you were not satisfied with my first
