Pros
  1. Many freedoms in development: tool selection, programming language, host. Some decisions are made with the team, some are decided individually, but a senior manager never comes and tells you how the task is to be done.

  2. Very good further training opportunities:

  • Company internal library
  • Online learning platforms like Pluralsight
  • Conference visits
  • Internal and external training
  1. Truly flexible working hours. Coordination only within the team.

  2. Excellent in-house canteen.

  3. Nice colleagues from all over the world (the environment is very international).

  4. Free drinks, fruit, muesli, and coffee for everyone.

Cons

Haven't seen many of those so far.

  • Some colleagues overestimate the importance of the events and think trivago is the only good employer at all. That's slightly annoying, but doesn't get out of hand.
  • No possibility to get a company car or company bike (I had gotten used to that at my previous employer).

Generally, the advantages heavily outweigh the disadvantages in my eyes.

Advice to Management

Mit einem Dienstrad oder Dienst-(Elektro?)-Auto wären viele Kollegen sehr glücklich :)
