I was referred by a Twilio employee. My initial recruiter call was scheduled and went well, followed by a hiring manager call which also went well. At the end of that call, I was told I would receive an email from the recruiter asking for my availability for further technical rounds. To my surprise, I received an automated reject email after a few days.
I am totally fine with receiving a rejection. However, this was unexpected after the hiring manager informed me that I would be asked for my availability for technical rounds and that my application would move forward. This felt totally unprofessional and something I did not expect from Twilio.
I do not want to name the recruiter or hiring manager here because, unlike Twilio, I understand professional ethics. All that happened to me was I wasted hours of my life dealing with this unprofessional attitude from a company I will never engage with again. I hope Twilio does not treat other candidates this way.
I will never interview with or work for Twilio again, no matter how great they may be. They need common sense and a basic sense of accountability and responsibility.
Some stupid questions. I am really pissed now.
