I applied via LinkedIn and subsequently received a HackerRank coding test. The questions were quite easy, and I cleared the exam.
After three weeks, I received a call from an Indian recruiter. Early in the conversation, she discussed salary and compensation.
Following the call with the recruiter, I had my first technical introduction round with a Senior Software Engineer based in San Francisco. This meant the interview was scheduled for 10:30 PM for me. The engineer was impressed with my performance and provided positive feedback.
After this, I was contacted by a Singapore recruiter. I received a calendar invite for five interview rounds scheduled throughout the week.
However, the specific types of interviews (e.g., coding, testing, database design) were not mentioned. I only knew the titles of the interviews. All of these interviews were also scheduled for 10:30 PM.
After completing the interviews, I waited three days for the results. I messaged and emailed the Indian recruiter for an update, but received no reply. I then messaged the Singapore recruiter, who responded within 30 minutes stating, "I haven't received any information about the role." She then looped in the Indian recruiter, but the Indian recruiter still did not respond.
Two weeks later, I emailed both recruiters. I then received an email from the Indian recruiter informing me that I had been rejected.
I completed a total of six interviews over the course of the week, only to ultimately receive a rejection email.
The Indian recruiter's lack of responsiveness was very disappointing. The Singapore recruiter, however, was very communicative. I did not expect this experience from Twilio; it's quite disheartening.
