Stock units, which Twilio thinks, is the best compensation.
RSU is the main component which Twilio thinks is the benefit that attracts Indian engineers, but it is not. Try to work on the salary structure and make it better for a product company. The salary offered and hike percentage is less than a consulting company's offering.
No lateral movement is possible.
There are people in the management level (US) who think they know the Indian market very well, but the fact is they don’t know the competition for engineers in India. Stop assuming things and form an India leadership team who knows the Indian market well.
They have a very good talent team, but the HR/BP is useless and doesn’t resolve any problems other than nodding their head with other leaders.
Threatening employees that they will fire them because they are in their probation period every time there is some showstopper in assigned tasks.
The talent leadership in the US is incompetent because they blindly believe people who don’t know what Indian market standards are.
Twilio can excel if they bring in the right people in leadership who know the market and bring the salary standards like other product-based companies.
Change the payroll vendor. There are many good vendors out there who can make employees' lives easier than making it complicated.
The insurance vendor is another hopeless vendor which is of no use during an emergency.
Try to provide the vesting and the stock grant at the right time as advertised rather than making a delay.
Bring in an HR/BP who can help resolve employee concerns rather than making it complicated.
Overall, this is the worst experience I have ever had throughout my career.
- Online test - HR never reached out after hearing my current salary. - Reached out to them multiple times. - Avoid the company as it's a waste of time. - Big in the US, but not into quality hiring in India. - HRs are not qualified.
I must say that it was a thoroughly positive experience. From the initial contact to the final interview, Twilio's recruitment process stood out for its professionalism, transparency, and emphasis on candidate experience.
They will waste your time and make you do six hours of interviews. They discriminate based on age and make assumptions about you during your interviews. They assume things you haven't even mentioned and claim to be inclusive while judging everyone ba
